    The PIKE Recruitment Philosophy

     



    The Pike Recruitment Philosophy, as adopted by the 2004 International Convention, shall be defined and pursued as follows:

     

    • Pi Kappa Alpha is committed to the aggressive growth of the entire fraternity movement, and especially its own membership;
    • Recruitment is a competition, but Pi Kappa Alpha will support and defend the rights of all fraternities to freely and independently colonize, recruit, affiliate and operate;
    • Recruitment is the lifeblood of every fraternity and Pi Kappa Alpha is therefore committed to open, unhindered and unrestricted recruitment, promoting the elimination of all recruitment-related restrictions, sanctions and regulations;
    • Pi Kappa Alpha is committed to active recruitment targeting, reaching out, making friends with, pledging and initiating the top men on campus, men who we believe will uphold the Fraternites values. 

     

    At it's core, the Pike Recruitment Philosophy can be summed up as follows:
        "Pi Kappa Alpha strives to recruit the most "best men." Through recruiting the "most outstanding men," we enable ourselves to become the ideal fraternity."

    Founding Success: The Legacy of Pi Kappa Alpha    

     

    Pi Kappa Alpha's history is rich in tradition. Founded in 1868 by six men at the University of Virginia, Pi Kappa Alpha was among the United States first social college fraternities. Over the years, the Fraternity has grown to over 200 chapters throughout the United States and Canada, boasting over 215,000 initiated members. The shared experience of Pike membership still causes individuals to make the most of their college experience. These individuals, as well as the long history of Pi Kappa Alpha, are testaments to the Fraternity's exclusive and consistent superiority in fraternal programming, scholarship, membership and leadership.

     Perhaps the best opportunity that Pi Kappa Alpha provides is the ability to cultivate a socially superior man. Pi Kappa Alpha challenges its members to be the pillars of integrity and beacons of insight on their college campuses and within their communities.         All students interested in Greek Life at USF should also visit the USF Interfraternity Council website. Students are required to register through the USF Interfraternity Council to join any Fraternity.
